- Remove screw covers from the lower left and lower right corners of the display panel
- Remove both the screws
- Separate the LCD display bezel (e.g. using a guitar pick), one doesn't have to remove it fully, just access to the webcam section is needed (the top part as shown in the image below)
- Push the connector part up as shown in the following image (from http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/28639i5B08E85CAFB6AC3C/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1)
- Ensure webcam works
- Put the display bezel, screws and screw covers back in place

HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx integrated webcam (HP TrueVision HD)
The integrated webcam of my HP Pavilion laptop stopped working one day and it turns out to be a common problem due to a short connector as reported by many users. The following recommended steps fixed the problem -
